Every now and then, I feel happy to hear your thoughts on my OCs and Pokemon Universe,

Character Creation Questions!

Which OC is your oldest, creation wise?</strong>

The ones that I don't use today anymore.



Stygimoloch/juvenile Pachycephaosaurus named Hardhat (actually, I was unaware of english slang and I really want to change this name into thickhead or bonehead as an irony, because the OC might have thick head, but it smart x3 )
and Snipe the Dilophosaurus.
Both now got a little more development, being related to the universe of Nanosaurus and Nanosaurus 2 games.

Those are my oldest, when I was so fascinated/obsessed with Disney's dinosaur once I got a DVD for my B-day....
and I was doing 8-11 times a comic about them (I was such morbid little perfectionist years ago...and good you don't know it)

As for my Pokemon universe, it's obviously Weirda Mirrart, known to me back then as Weirda Jeweel (pfff, what?)
Also, I digged her first reference sheet out of curiocity and read it....my reaction:
Weirda's reference sh**. It has changed into MUCH better route, my GOSH.

From Pokemon OCs, the first was an old Steelix living on an Iron Island, now having a name Dirge and being just a part of my Pokemon OCs galore, being a minor Pokemon OC.


Which OC is your newest?

hmmm....let me see....Ginko the shiny Sigilyph and prof. Ginko are my latest creations.

Mlularuka the Noibat is KIND OF, being a rewritten OC and still....in the works as I haven't found an inspiration to her personality


Have you ever scrapped one of your ocs and used their backstory / interests / ect. for a newer one?

I don't remember....so I think it's fair to say, no.


Which OC is your favorite? Unexpected favorite?

My watchers and friends know it already :'D

it's not even my OC, it's...Professor Tipsy!

Believe me, it's kind of unexpected one to me when I think about it looking back, because when I found his ref sheet for the first time,
I felt nervous if the owner will even allow me to straight ship him with my Weirda Mirrart.

Originally there was another OC planned to become a second protagonist of my stories, but it always felt a bit dull to my eyes. 
One of my friends remembers how MUCH I was talking about the tidbit that she'll meet with Roark and Byron
for more than just Gym leader battle, because I see these as paleontologists, so I knew it would be cool for a lonely, introvertic (actually, ambivertic) girl
to find someone who'll expand gradually my future part of the stories.
However, you see...I won't lie, I am HORRIBLE when it comes to create human OCs. D:

mentioned friend of mine even asked if Wei could date with Roark

me:
excuse me? Not only I see this dude as a bit too "protective" and mellow, but seriously,
he's not impressive enough for her. Byron is fancier with his personality from the anime
and that cape, messy hair and...his beard X'D

my friend:
Isn't he too old for her?

Of course he IS and why have you thought these could be....no, just, no.
I need a passionate nerd with some cool Pokemon. Maybe someday....I'll get who's gonna be with Wei.

all these years, and I even had to kick out my original concept of Wei's travell companion,
because the concept around the OC didn't clicked on me as I knew definitely what route to take with Wei's story
and her as an OC.

But prof. Tipsy?
All I ever wanted for my stories, especially with his eccentric personality/research and his Pokemon which are splendid potential.
nuff said, go Paleoshipping or go home.

Pokemon fandom(and canon) can create countless attempts to make cool shipping/pair with a Pokemon professor,
but all are just...not very effective.

Do you have a process when it comes to making OCs? Can you make one out of thin air or do you take months to build them?

I don't plan it, because that's when my OC creation goes the worst way...it just happens after I get inspired.
Inspiration is a fickle thing...

Mainly these factors:

- Pokemon fandom, it's stereotypes or hate around certain Pokemon. I go against it, at least I'm trying.
For example with Barbaracle or Gumshoos, I just share my thoughts about them, because I really like them,
not getting why people must hate them so much.... '^'

- people from real life. Some of my OCs got their development after I got opportunity to talk with some people
about their life experience or their view for the life. That makes me feel my OC is 'alive', not just a fictional character I tried to develop to make them reliable.
They breath, they think, they act in my head. They're not a bunch of facts

- DRAWING. My brain cannot chill, even through the drawing alongside focusing on details or artwork process,
I think more about my OCs behaviour, their background or interactions. A certain scene is just a slice of a short movie in my head


Is there a OC you have that just doesn’t click with you yet?

Yeah....those that are just basic ideas and I haven't found inspiration for them, so they're just...basic ideas ;^;
Which is why as a perfectonist I dislike them, even if I want to like them?
It's...weird.


Do you mostly fandom OCs or purely original ones? If original, do you have any plans for them in terms of producing a short film, book?

I used to make some monster OCs, based on my "dinosaur" toys given, but since I remember, I made fandom/movie ones, because I love to expand things as I ponder over certain things I watch or talk about. I just can't start from the scratch, that's too much to me...
I tried to make kind of dark-themed Zootopia like comic but with dinosaurs, but....I soon gave up. I felt to lacking and didn't clicked on me truly. But I have few OCs from this, which I handed over to TipsyRa1d3n hoping he can make use of them.

After I got absorbed into Pokemon Diamond/Platinum which clicked on me unlike any other Pokemon game...and after I started to have apathy/depression episodes and got OC Weirda in my head, it just stayed.

I sometimes daydream of making short animations with the soundtrack that brings such vivid motion image in my head...


Do you ship any of your OCs together? Or do you ship them with friend’s?

Since I was raised under conditional love and under wings of very practical mother,
how I could not daydream or vent into fictional World with characters that know what's unconditional love?

I wouldn't believe it. And how far it will go with such splendid fashion and weirdness around them.


Historically, the internet has never been too kind to OCs. What’s one thing you wish people realized about OCs?

That they're part of our imagination, our thoughts, our daydreams, our dreams and wishes, THEY SHALL BE PART OF FREEDOM THEN.
You should be grateful so many people are willing to share their imagination with you, they spend time and put effort to do so...and some are nasty and horrible enough to say "no".

HOW CAN YOU SAY "NO" TO SOMEONE'S MIND BREATHING? JUST....JUST LET THEM BE AND IGNORE.
DOES IT OFFEND YOU? Why of all things,if they just shared it and haven't pointed a finger at you, but you're just defensive or immature. I mean, there are exceptions, certain situation when someone wants to shout or offend a group with their OC, but 99% of the time?

They just share what their mind just does. Let them be, the World is not black and white, a tree is not made of a single, straight branch. It's just different. It's just a new thing to add, you don't have to agree show how much you lack being tolerant or narrow minded. You can choose to leave and ignore, which will let other people be happy. And give a freedom to their imagination.
Imagination is like breathing of the mind and soul to a creative mind. Don't be a monster and try to make someone choke or suffer.
Just let them be, let the reality get expanded and vivid thanks to our imagination shared. Adn we all do mistakes,
so when you give a critic, maybe give also a suggestion? 
Sharing, developing and exchanging thoughts of creative minds is in my opinion, one of the best things we can do in our lives.
