A new meeting

The quiet soothing hum of the star resonated across the wavy asteroid belts of the Ozen Shroud. It was once more a somber morning; the rays dim but warm. Space felt slow. None of the Galari had woken up yet, it was still early. The ancient star always slept for long, yet it seemed healthy otherwise. They had yet to completely recover from the warp. The Iloneus system was new and exciting for the dusts, but the travel there – even with the help of the wormhole Galari – had been difficult on the old star. It had not had the time to lecture Avis yet either, the little shy kid who had been too afraid to school with its star-siblings. Today he would join them, in any case, to venture out past the nebula where Nova resides, to the nursery. It was a new month; the space around them had shifted. Nova’s proposal to adopt a new member was heartily welcomed by the excited Galari: Cal wanted to nurse them, he would take any chance to take care of new siblings. Helios still did not trust his skill, Cal might have transformed to planet, but he was yet unprepared to be a true adult yet. Selachii was not interested, even though she had more potential; she was always too absent minded, happily floating around the others. She would go where they went, but none really knew if she noticed the world around her. Avis was sulking; he felt his siblings got more of Helio's attention. When the ancient saw this, he put Avis on his back. "Time to go, little ones!"

As the children awoke, Helio prepared them for the journey ahead. They had not been to Nova before, it would be a nice journey. After a long time – too long for the Ancient’s liking – all three kids stood ready. Caduceus, Selachii and Avis. And such, they marched out triumphantly, as if walking into battle. They were not difficult kids to take care of, the Ancient was more than happy about that, but they had their.. moments. The journey went well. The group had not really been accustomed to their galaxy quite yet, it’s bright nebula longing for new life, but made their way across effortlessly. They felt right at home. During the journey, Avis stuck close to its parent star. It didn’t like going out much, especially to Nova. While fascinating to Avis, he did not like being near Nova, since he was so much smaller than the Nebula Keeper. Today they ventured to the nursery, where newborn Galari were kept for a lovely parent to adopt them. Abruptly, the otherwise quiet Avis squealed loudly!
“Hey, wait! We forgot something!” … the others looked towards him, startled. What could they possibly have forgotten? All the siblings were there, they had little else.
“We forgot to think of a name!”, Avis exclaimed, his voice sounded almost upset. Cal laughed, he had not expected this comment from his youngest sibling.

“Well then, Avis, what might thee suggest?” he jested a bit. The little green Galari pondered.
“How about Yui? .. no, wait, Amaranth! Erh, they’d have to be purple for that, no that won’t do..”. The others nodded in agreement. Maybe it would be better to decide on a name when they had met the kid, the group admitted they did not want a name that didn’t suit the new kid. Whistling and hopping around they continued onwards. Before long, they reached the nursery. The cute little cries of playing Galari could be heart from further out, and Caduceus got more and more excited the closer the group got. As they wandered in, several children came to them. Unfortunately, the group rejected their offer to play: they had come here not for this, but to find their newest sibling. From nowhere, the brilliant keeper of nebulae appeared, Nova himself. He led them to a secluded portion of the nursery, where a few little dusts were sleeping.
“Newborns, not a day old, the little ones.” Nova explained.
“I would like you to take care of one of these. They’re a bit weaker, but they don’t like it here. You guys appreciate peace and quiet, and that’s just what they need.”, he smiled and stepped away from the group. It was their choice to make, after all. The bunch of dusts opened their eyes, slowly, looking at the company which had just arrived. Helios gave a wink to its kids;
“I’m sure we know exactly which one we love.” They all nodded in agreement. The big-eyed dust in front of them looked puzzled as they all charged to meet it. The entire group fell head over heels. Avis, who had doubts about this trip in the morning, smiled: "Welcome to our solar system, sis."
