Infection Arch

sinister deal has been sealed.

Hedge and Hekate have united goals in their equal hate to both Athena and Adrian, and the fallen Lord has demanded Aryn's destruction. Vektren has been offered a feast, and its chance on revenge for Adrian's meddling in the past.

All wrong will be paid in blood.

Whatever light and glimpse of regrowth that seems to be casting upon Aryn are more likely to be the tainted roots of Vektren, as its dark seeds have finally begun to infest the Great Spirit's lands.

Vektren

The time for revenge has finally come - and with an offer too rewarding for the cult to ignore!

The Father has presented its dark children with the opportunity to seize and swallow a family whole. War approaches, and wolves must ready themselves for blood.
Vektren's focus are now:

- Harass Aryn at any given chance. The dark brothers and sisters are in it for kills!
- Claim any heart from Aryn whenever opportunity presents itself.
- Prepare body, spirit and soul for war and blood.

Aryn

After a long darkness, hope seems to blossom! Against all odds, Merrill has escaped her fate, and finally joins her brothers and sisters once more.

In the end, it all seems that their faith has once again emerged victorious against the evil that grips this family.
What Aryn DOES know:

Merrill was, in fact, kidnapped by Vektren and not by Blutwald.
- She was a serf before escaping, and went through rituals of reeducation within Vektren.
- The reason of her abduction was revenge on Adrian's past deeds with Hekate.

What Aryn DOESN'T know:

- Hedge's involvement with Vektren.
- Why exactly Vektren is assaulting the borders, leaving them only to guess.

Prompts

For Aryn:
  • Lady Athena has welcomed Merrill back into the pack, and has charged the clan with helping their returned Sister reintegrate into society. Merrill has suffered greatly at the hands of her captors, but she is home now and both law and honor demand she be treated with dignity.

Does your character embrace Merrill’s return, or does fear make them callous and distant? Are the lies of the Vektreni stronger than the grace of the One?

  • Lady Athena has insisted that Adrian keep his position as a Master Vicar, due to his changed heart and loyalty to Aryn for many years. He has disavowed his relations with Hekate, and Athena will not count past sins against him.

How does your character feel about this act of forgiveness? Aryn culture maintains strong and heavily ingrained views on the importance of mercy and learning from mistakes, but Masters and especially Vicars are supposed to be examples of righteousness for the pack to follow. It is a difficult line to balance!

  • Vektreni attacks are frequent and bloody, and it seems they could be avoided if Merrill, and maybe Adrian too, were given over to them. Is it all for one and one for all? Or do the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few? Fear pulls a haze over rational thought.

Does your wolf blame Vektren for its cruelty, or Adrian who made deals with them? Perhaps, consciously or not, your wolf even blames Merrill for returning and bringing these devils hot on her heels seeking vengeance for their lost prize?

  • Wardens and Coursers should patrol with additional frequency. Merrill’s escape has brought about backlash from the Vektreni, and rumors of Aryn’s weakness bring loners and scavengers eager to take advantage of the disarray. These threats cannot be allowed to invade the border under any circumstances. Invaders should be captured if possible, so that the Three Bodies may question them.

  • Rangers should send out word to the pack’s allies, and keep careful watch for suspicious outsiders near the borders. Remember not to engage in conflict unless absolutely necessary - gather intelligence, and report it to the Three Bodies.

  • Vicars carry the heaviest burdens of all. Vektreni attack with intent to kill, causing frequent injuries in need of treatment. More than that - Vicars must help heal the wounds left by the truth. Packmates are likely to be frightened by the discovery of Vektren’s involvement in the pack’s suffering. And the extent of Merrill’s psychological wounds is yet unknown.

Be available, and even insistent, in checking on the welfare of packmates. Help them to keep faith in the Clan and show them how to rely on the One rather than giving into fear and hate. Pray for guidance and protection, and help prepare the way.

  • All Arynians are expected to cross-train in anticipation of further conflict. Vicars can teach basic first aid, Rangers can supply tutelage in subterfuge and diplomacy, Wardens can train packmates in self-defense, and Coursers can offer acrobatics and agility trials.

  • Allies of Aryn may also be consulted for training, aid with patrols, and information exchange!
OOC NOTE: Be wary of metagaming and godmodding! Most Arynians will have no knowledge of the advanced torture techniques used by Vektren, and even if they've been told of it, will lack the perspective necessary to grasp how powerful these mind games can be. It is reasonable for more rational wolves to suspect that Merrill’s escape was not entirely luck, or even divine providence. However, it would be extremely unusual for characters to assume that Merrill is a traitor. Lacking solid proof or intimate knowledge of Vektreni culture, calling her out as an enemy right after her return would make your character appear overly paranoid and fearful. It would directly conflict with Aryn’s emphasis on strong family ties and loyalty to each other!

For Vektren:
  • The Herald has declared War against Aryn! Vektren has already involved itself with the Dark Age of Vale, and now seeks blood once again.

Does your wolf trust on the Mistress' scheming, or do they see fault in her confidence with Hedge? Will war please their warrior souls, or do reasoning tells them this is unwise?

  • Enforcers and Scythes are being asked to double their training and harden themselves to battle.

Will your wolf train alone? Will they join another in this task? Or will they oversee it completely?

  • Magisters and Clerics have a lot to do. War means wounds, and Vektren must have plentiful of herbs and supplies in its stock. Praying for guidance, luck and shadows is also a necessity.

What best than to join forces and craft more bone charms to protect the holy grounds?

  • Vipers and Shades must have ears and eyes everywhere. Ready to take action, to forge opportunity and to take advantage when they arise. Vektren relies greatly on its Intelligence - gather information, be always a step ahead, even if it means meddling with the enemy themselves.

  • If all else fails and you are caught by Aryn, remember that to die for the Brotherhood is to die with honor! Prefer death over giving away the secrets of the cult and the grand schemings of this war.

  • :new: Epione has been actively working on embedding poison into the fur of vektreni warriors off to battle, causing enemies who ingest it to feel dizzy or irritated! She is also crafting special flowers Vektreni can wear to battle - and use as a last resource of suicide in case they are captured!

If your character has been involved with an event that may turn out a good prompt, feel free to comment under this journal so we can keep adding interactions! If you have any good ideas of prompts too, we are more than happy to receive them!

Casting Calls

THESE CALLS ARE MEANT FOR MULTIPLE RPS, AND NOT ONLY ONE!

The more people sign for each specific prompt, more RPs will be set and each will have their result open to the participants involved! If you sign for a Lead role with your own prompt, you are taking the reins to craft your own prompt for others to partake in!

These RPs are of open response nature! To sign up for these two already pre-established prompts, reply this journal with your character's name, rank and desired role!

:new: Once all roles are full, participants will be receiving a note with the link to a Google Docs for the RP! If this is a custom member plot, it's responsibility of the assigned lead to organize the Doc and send it over to the participants! :new:

Pixel Rose Divider 2 - Black
Bullet; Purple WEB OF LIES (organized by InstantCoyote) :new: FULL
Untrusting Aivar goes against Arynian beliefs, putting his learned logic ahead of any idea of a "miracle." His loyalty is to the pack as a whole, and not to Merrill. She says she escaped, but he can't help but doubt her after hearing evidence against her from a Vektreni's own mouth. While out patrolling the borders, Aivar begins to speak negatively about their returned Sister and tries to convince the others that Merrill is not to be trusted by any means.
    • Party/Group
      • "Leader": Aivar.
      • Followers: Ronelle and Dyana.
    • 2nd Party/Group
      • The Devil's Advocate: Hani and Seven.

Pixel Rose Divider 2 - Black

Bullet; Yellow MIDNIGHT PARKOUR (organized by Shichibi) :new: FULL

Dee is willing to train your wolves at her favourite time of day, to make it possible for them to escape using Aryn's terrain in their favour, even at night. Knowing how difficult it can be to fight when you are alone, sometimes, a tactical escape is better. However... something or someone might lurk in the shadows nearby...

      • Party Arynians (1-3)
        • Role: Tzuriel, Ragnarok, Daenerys
      • 2nd Party Vektreni (1-3)
        • Role: Ghislaine, Vieste
Possible Outcomes/Suggestions: Vektreni being spotted, but escape into the shadows of the night, giving the illusion that they are truly one with them OR they will engage in a fight with possible injuries on both sides [Arynians can show off their new terrain moves and Vektreni can vanish back to where they came from silently, still].

Pixel Rose Divider 2 - Black
Bullet; Orange SEEKING BLOOD (organized by ShishiNoSeirei)
With a lot of young bodies and minds to train, Shiru and Hellion decide to take a small group of not fully experienced (but old enough) younglings out to the field to teach them how to attack and harass those from Aryn. This small walk with 1-2 experienced Vektreni is meant to inspire future Vektreni to become better at their skills to rip fur off enemies once they are old enough.
        • Party/Group (Vektren)
          • Trainers: Shirubafurea, Hellion.
          • Younglings: Helh and Hestia.
          • 2nd Party/Group (Arynians)
            • Younglings: Neka and Brielle.
            Possible Outcomes for Aryn:
            - The young wolves see firsthand the brutal paws of Vektren, leading to nightmares and fear of the dark.

            Possible Outcomes for Vektren:
            - The young wolves feel the flesh of another wolf again, or even for the first time. They are eager to find a task suited to their skills or develop new ones to serve their home and Gods.
            - The young ones end up finding out their own faults, with makes them start to question if their dreams are possible to reach.

Other Outcomes: Injuries, death, love, questionable friendships.

WynBird Zoketi do you think Aryn might need Chandor healers if there will be a lot of injured wolves? As both pack are allies now :o
