It is this time of year again! And it came with embarrassingly low activity in my gallery since last time, so sorry for that.
Arnilo's Animal Anthro August or AAAA for short is an action I started last year and which I intend to make an annual thing. For the whole month of August, following couple of simple rules, an animal anthro art will be created day after day and uploaded as connection allows. The catch? I want YOU, yes you, to participate! Fabulous prizes probably not included. I do intend to draw something for every ACTIVE participant (and I'll try to cook something extra for anyone who will leave their sweat, blood and tears on the - digital or traditional - canvas).
Rules and couple of changes since last time:
> Draw every day! This is the most important one. I don't want you to pour everything out one day and gradually upload it, the fresh look and new ideas every day is what AAAA is all about! Art of all qualities is appreciated and loved here!
> THEMED WEEKS! The biggest change from last year, one I wanted to introduce back then, but lacked courage. This time around each week will have a specific theme you are ENCOURAGED BUT NOT REQUIRED to follow.
> You have ONE cheat day and ONE wild card every week! There's nothing wrong with not being able to make it, not even on a restaurant napkin, or to be out of ideas for the specific theme. With this you are entitled to take one day off from AAAA every week, wild card on the other hand means one pic every week can be whatever you want and deviate from set theme. Of course it's redundant if you chose not to follow any theme at all.
> Brand new PURSUIT PREDATOR category! My early scouting made me find out some possible participants prefer taking more time than a single day per work. For all the perfectionists out there upload SINGLE ARTWORK PER WEEK, preferably themed, access to everyday WIPs appreciated. Additionally, for all the WRITERS interested in joining, please limit yourself to SINGLE, anthro-themed STORY PER WEEK, so that I can keep up with you <3
Same goes for all the other, alternative art medium entries, SINGLE ENTRY PER WEEK is perfectly okay. You don't need to be fast when you're persistent.
> Highlights! Separate journal entry dedicated to the AAAA will be posted. It will be mainly my vanity thing, I'll be uploading my works for every week there. BUT after each week is done highlights and personal favourites from every participant will be posted along my pics. If you're so inclined, I encourage you to post a progress update journal in your gallery with your own personal favs.
> STAY HAPPY AND HAVE FUN! That's the second most important rule. I don't want any of you to feel like you're forced to participate, except for Kitteh Paws, who signed up last year already and now is bound by contract stronger than one with devil.

AAAAdvanced, WEEK 1 (1st-5th)
Theme explanation: Anything from modern times onward! Puppies in space? Sure, why not! Let science fiction flow! Not really kin on space? I don't know what to tell you. It's rabbits working in Subway for you, then.
AAAAwesome, WEEK 2 (6th-12th)
Theme explanation: All the awe-inspiring animals are welcome. Lions, elephants, fennec barbarians. Think big, think strong, think absolutely terrifying!
AAAAdorable, WEEK 3 (13th-19th)
Theme explanation: Quite the opposite, everything small, cute and d'aww. Corgis, kittens, bears in tutus. Sugar overload!
AAAArchaic, WEEK 4 (20th-26th)
Theme explanation: Once again, we take previous theme and switch it around. Swords, might and magic. Prepare your knights, your hoplites, your princesses and your Emperors Hadrians as badger anthros. Fantasy themes not frowned upon.
AAAAnomaly, WEEK 5 (27th-31st)
Theme explanation: Surprise me! Find nooks and crannies previously not explored by anthro artists. Bring your biggest OOMPH! for the grand finale of AAAA.

This is a showcase journal, for my own entries and highlights from other participants. To learn more about AAAAugust, visit Warm-up period (31st July) This time we had only one day for the warm-up, barely enough to get the traditional snek girl day done, but once again, I wasn't alone as sent out sir Kitteh Paws on a grand adventure... hope he'll make it back before AAAAugust ends, to appear in more entries! OutlAAAAws (1st-6th) HIGHLIGHTS while Waltey provided us with plenty of brigands, bandits and general evil-doers, these two stood out to me the most, both as characters and with image quality. kicked in with a lovely host of characters, but for some reason also attached this completely and perfectly innocent dogwoman. Must be clerical error, to be rectified immediately! has a whole host of recurring characters for AAAAugust and there was no question that lovely Catburglar needs to once again return for such a fitting theme. Keep on keeping on, Catburglar...

This is a guidelines journal, for showcase gallery click here: I didn't think I still had it in me to continue with AAAAugust (Arnilo's Animal Anthro August) this year, but then I discovered I actually don't have it in me anymore and decided to go on anyway, because I refuse to give up unless it all crash and burns in a massive disaster. But-but-but, I imagine you absolutely cannot wait to read with your very own, or borrowed, if that's how you're rolling, eyes what Arnilo's Animal Anthro August is all about. It's a whole month (August, as an observant reader could have already deduced) of drawing an animal anthro every day (or week, depending on how you roll) with a couple of rules included. This is a showcase journal, in which various entries are gathered. To learn more about AAAAugust, visit Warm-up period (25th-31st July) HIGHLIGHTS once again joined me for the warm-up, with some wonderful Kitteh Paws practice doodles. puts the emphasize on warmth in warm-up, although I'm not sure leisurely lounging on a carpet helps! FantAAAAsy (1st-7th) HIGHLIGHTS despite having Kitteh Paws in his corner, Walt decided to show a wide array of various exciting anthros! Spoiler alert, though, Kitteh Paws does appear in the end... used the Fantasy week for story of Katya and Reevan, with many lovely entries, but it's the minotaur that stole my heart this week. played anagrams and arrived at dragon-themed mushroom cannibalism. Judging by her face, at least one of them is a magic mushroom. decided to start off strong and brought some serious firepower, attached to a fierce feline. assured me no real koala bear was harmed for this entry. Same sadly can't be said
Ready or not, here AAAAugust comes

AAAAugust (Arnilo's Animal Anthro August) is basically here already and after long consideration I've decided to include whole last week of July as warm-up, rather than resigning from having one altogether due to calendar reasons. But I bet that you, who most likely came here at least for last few of those blogs year after year, can't wait for me to explain what Arnilo's Animal Anthro August is. It is an open invitation for anyone to win magnificent prizes such as feelgood points, tired wrist (from drawing, you naughty person) and occasionally a pic or two.
