Description

Illustrated by P5ych, creator of the Latchkey Kingdom webcomic.

I funded this specific artwork. It has nothing to do with the content of their webcomic. If you want to see more artwork of this kind, please consider their services. They're pretty good for cover art, video-game-based posters, action-adventure scenes, and anthro females in particular.

If you'ld like *your own* picture like this, you can find their commission information here: latchkeykingdom.com/page/img/s…

Their comic can be found here: latchkeykingdom.smackjeeves.co…
Pages can be seen a week early for $2 www.patreon.com/LKComic/overvi…

So, over on FA, I've posted a copy of the same picture, just at a smaller resolution due to FA's upload limits. This section is where I had a brief ramble explaining how Becky convinced June and Starlace that they need to fill Amethyst's home with balloons and pop them all on a live stream for instant fame and profit. But since I've already posted that there, I wanted to have some different text here.

I mean, I genuinely love the scenery for this one, the colors work out great with Becky's color scheme being pretty strongly consistent on that side of the layout, and Amethyst's being pretty coherent with the sofa. I picked the poses, but left freedom to toy with the details of any outfits, postures, expressions, etc. The deformation on Becky's balloon is well thought out. I'd love if someone would assemble a guide on how to properly render balloon deformations under stress, or at least compile an organized quick-reference album for artists.

I never got around to drawing Becky or Starlace as anything other than ponies, so it was agreed it would be more practical to draw them as ponies for this picture when all of the references for them were also pony. And while I did rename one of them, I still haven't come up with a new name I like for the other. June was never a pony to begin with, though clearly takes some inspiration from them. I don't recall when or why I first drew them.

And Amethyst was kind of a last-second choice, and created for use in a game I've been very slow at developing over the past year. Legally speaking, I personally don't own her design but can assign myself the right to use the design, which I find amusing. Nick's interpretation of her seems a bit more reserved than that of other versions, and I find it cute.

If Becky and Lace return in the future, expect them to be less pony, bigger proportions, and some eye-color tweaks. And maybe some more clothes.
