Lori - Dancing the night away

Lori smiled. Rogolf had the time of his life, his ugly orc face split nearly to half by his joyous grin. Malik's fiddling made their feet move easily; he was a genius. She thought of what could happen the next days.

Rogolf had promised her gold if she helped him to some nice days on earth. Humans were more racist towards those who looked alien (although it had gotten better the last two decades), and the orc merchant wanted just some fun. Since her husband Joseph had died six years ago and their two sons were far away in Paris, Lori was lonesome somedays, and she had cast away that elvish noblewoman snobbery nearly forty years ago, when she came to earth. So why not an orc? Today, they would dance, tomorrow they would eat and drink, and if he asked her for more the day after... She knew that he was wealthy enough to hold the farm and give her some decent lifestyle, and she knew that if she managed the money well, their - and her further - future were secured. The humans had a nice system of banking, and Lori had always had a nose for investment. Rogolf would have a nice life with an enterprising wife who could help him well, and she'd have the money again to live without the fear of hunger.
