Jacob Dawson's Personal License

September 1, 2018

All of my original work, except where otherwise noted, is licensed under the Creative Commons BY-SA 4.0 license. Websites like Deviant Art, Vimeo, and Flickr all have the ability to mark content with Creative Commons licenses, or include licensing metadata. In that case, the license associated with the work should be treated as the official license for that work. In cases where no licensing information is given, this license can be assumed.

This license does not extend to work done for me, either as part of a commission, trade, or gift. In that case you must check the actual license applied to the work, or assume no license if none is given. If you are able to gain permission, from all parties involved, to use that work in conjunction with a CC BY-SA license, then you may apply this license to that work. You do not need to ask my permission.

What follows below is my personal interpretation of the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. It is not meant to be a replacement for the actual license, and does not constitute a legally binding agreement. For exact details on the allowed use of the work, please refer to the actual license.

You are free to modify and redistribute my work, including for commercial gain, as long as you both: A) credit me by name ( Jacob Dawson ) for the original work with a link back to my user page, or wherever you originally found the work; and B) license your modifications of the work under the same CC BY-SA 4.0 license, or any later version, or comparable license.

You must disclose any modifications made when distributing modified versions of the work. You may not give credit in such a way as to imply support or endorsement, of any product or cause, associated with your use of my work. All credits contained in the original work must either be left unaltered or be included in your crediting of the work.

Basically you are allowed to share and use my work, as long as you give me credit, and are willing to grant others the same opportunity. I place this license on my work in the hopes that others will find it useful, and will be able to use my work in their own creative endeavors. If you have any questions regarding this license, or a particular use of my work, feel free to contact me.

If you use my work in your own project, please let me know. This is purely a request, and you are under no obligation to contact me. I like to know how my work is being used, and if I approve of your work I can share it with others. This helps the community, and helps us both gain more exposure.
