Unknown Pencil Drawing

At the moment I'm actually in writing mode again but after watching Yugioh Vrains episode 64 and 65 I felt so much motivation to draw again. I enjoyed to watch the backstory very much and wanted to draw the moment when Kusanagi saw Yusaku for the first time in Vrains. I also like the similiarity of their names Unknown and Unnamed.

For this pencil drawing I tried out some new things once again. First of all I noticed that a lot of my older drawings decrease in quality because I draw over the holes in my college block. This time I drew a guideline to remind me to not draw into the holes again.

Furthermore I now draw guidelines for the face on my reference picture as well to get a better orientation. It works so well for the eyes and the hair for example. To be honest I was a little bit afraid of drawing Playmakers hair but this helped me very well to not get lost. In the end the hair was the most fun part

Also I used a completely new shading technique. Instead of drawing straight lines, I drew little circles. A while ago I watched a tutorial about this coloring technique and tried it out for the pencil shading. I still need to get a better feeling for the pressure but otherwise it worked very well.

Last but not least I did my best to work layer by layer and tried to not accidently blur the pencil lines with my hand. That also worked better than usual.

I added some extra shading for the eyes because I couldn't resistxD In the future I will try out to do the same with the whole shading.

This drawing was a pure success for several things I tried out and I had a lot of fun

I listened to Yugioh songs like BOY, Go Forward and Braving during drawing.
