Description

Originally I was going to have Fonn as my second character, but I this guy created by Zaxarie was just begging to be fleshed out and seems like such a fun potential character. So he is my slot 2, have to save up to bring Fonn back someday

Appearance

Phenotype :: Red Dilute with Urajiro, Fox Paws, and Leopard Spots (Liver Carrier)

Genotype :: aa Bb CCch dd Ee xx ExFx FeLs

Build :: Solid, with bulk from working with crafting materials

Height ::  78 cms

Additional Details :: Crown mane, notch in ear, heavy scarring on face, half tail missing, some scars on lower stomach

Personality

Likes :: Creating things, seeing others enjoy his creations, finding gemstones, learning new techniques, chatting with others at the end of a hard days work

Dislikes :: Fighting,  shoddy workmanship, braggarts, those that don't take care of their things

Strengths :: Good eye for gems, calm personality, observant

Weaknesses :: Doesn't like to kill (other dogs or food), not good at pricing things (if someone seems to really love something he would practically give it away, if someone shows no care for their tools suddenly a simple stone knife costs 100MC)

Personality :: Joska is one of those that are slow to anger, and he also tends not to visibly hold it, though he does feel things deeply. He loves to work with his paws making things for other tribe members and his greatest pleasure is to see someone light up on seeing one of his creations, though scarring on his face can make it hard to actually read his emotions. He is a dog that likes to spend his days working hard to perfect his craft, whether that is hunting new items to use or making them into tools. He then enjoys sitting with the other dogs at the end of the day chatting with them or sometimes just listening, enjoying the company of like minded canines.

He is the kind of dog that will be calm on meeting a new dog preferring to get to know them before acting, though he knows when he gets a higher rank he will be able to leave the Asmundr territory searching for materials and then he will have to act with more caution

He resents his mother for what she did and the rift she caused between him and his sister.

While he generally prefers to be working on making things, on the occasions where he is chosen to deliver things to the border he enjoys the quiet and peace of the journey, taking the time to reflect on his life thus far and thing of what things he will be able to do and make in the future

History

When not hunting and working to keep the fire alive during their Rite of Passage Joska spent a lot of the time in self reflection, he'd always thought he might follow his mothers paw steps and that he and his sister would become great warriors and soldiers fighting against the dangers of the meteor tribe. But the more he thought and the more he saw as the pair travelled the less he felt inclined to that way of life. It seemed clear to him that the way of a warrior was not for himself, though he could see in his sister the drive and the skill of her movements she would become a great warrior.

As the season did turn and the snows finally began to melt te pair turned towards home, success in their journey and wiser for the experience. Though in his heart Joska was still conflicted. Did he do what was expected of him, his sister had talked much about becoming a warrior and how they would rise through the ranks of soldiers together. But his heart was heavy at the thought of such a future. To be nothing but a killer, fighting to keep his pack safe it was noble, but it wasn't him.
So deep in thought was he that he didn't see the rock sticking out of the snowmelt and mud until he tripped over it, tumbling to the ground with a rush of air. Hearing his sister laugh he turned his head away, only to see a glint of something in the muck. Scrapping it with a paw to wipe the mud off he saw it was a broken dagger, the once sharp blade dulled by time and covered in knicks and scratches, a large portion of it gone, and the leather that once covered the handle having rotted away to nothing, the remaining wood clearly having been well crafted showed much less wear than the blade itself, though it still carried the marks of the fangs of those who once wielded it.

Carefully Joska picked up the weapon, placing it in one of the pieces of fur he and his sister had used to survive the cold. Wanting, no needing to know about this blade, he carried it back and travelled to the Western tunnel settlement, to find out more about this weapon that seemed to call to him, not as a tool to fight, but as a beautiful creation that while beaten down was not destroyed.

Embra, on seeing the look in the young Royale's eyes, decided the best option was for him to move to the Western Tunnel settlement and become a blacksmith. She could see in his eyes a love of craft and the beauty of creating an item. It would be a hard task but with his strength and mental fortitude Joska was determined to learn all he could, and make weapons like the dagger.

When word came that his parents had been killed it was a shock, his peaceful father, a dog who only wanted to heal and cure others, and his mother. Things were always complicated with his mother and himself, after the Rite and having spent the last couple of years here he had realised her 'games' were not fun and loving things, but training, for pups to young and innocent to be treated such a way. So many of the dogs were treated differently by their parents, loved and cared for. Playing actual games, not barely hidden abuse. But she was his mother, and there was Svelonde, she still lived in the Frozen East the same settlement as their parents had. For her sake and to say his goodbyes he travelled across the lands, walking with a group of merchants and thinking about what he would say to his sister.

After the funeral he sat with his sister and her friend, pleased to see she had someone in the settlement to be with her through this tough time. She had always been the one that pushed emotions aside soldier first and dog second, clearly this Lilou was doing good for her.

But then as they spoke he realised, she still thought their mother was a good dog, had raised them like any loving mother would. In trying to point out how their 'games' were compared to other pups the two were roused to anger, and then to his shock she threatened him. Fangs bared she would truly attack her own brother, the only kin either of them had left, his only option was to leave the settlement, return to his home and life in the Western tunnels, there was no place for him in his sisters life now. With his head hanging low he walked away from the tent he once called home, ears flicking back briefly to catch his sisters howl. But his paws did not falter as he walked, heading back to his home and his work.

He has spent several years working to learn the various skills used to craft things, spending his days working and his nights hanging out with others that live in the Western Tunnels. Since his parents funeral and his sisters and his arguement he has not done much in the way of traveling to other parts of the territory. Though recently he was sent to deliver some items to the Shield Wall Settlement, as he was leaving the Western Tunnels he met the friendly healer Jaace, a Vildmarkens terrier cross Royale, who helped him with figuring out the way to the settlement. The pair get along well and have become good friends

His scarring comes from a mix of things, the 'games' played when he was a pup, adventures had during the Rite of Passage and his work as a Carver
