Carnival of Life | Week 3
Czar 2027 vs Troodon

"What the hell is this supposed to be?!" Varya yelled as she pressed the barrel of her glock against the temple of the Coliseum's main fight organizer. 
"I-I swear by Life and Death I don't know! He wasn't like that in the morning when I checked our stables!" the man cried out, holding his arms up as he tried to appease the furious mafia boss. "He shouldn't have been let on the arena if our staff saw something was wrong with him. There has to have been some kind of malfunction in our release system or procedure or..." he tried to continue, but shut his mouth with his own palm as the cold gun barrel was again pressed more firmly against his head. 
"Well obviously he shouldn't!" Varya snarled as she lifted her gun off the man. "We're going to find out who is mainly to blame for this." the Russian woman hissed from between her teeth, turning away from the kneeling man. "In the meantime, you're going to pay for not staying on top of your own event and staff." Varya spared one last cold glance at the man before signaling for her employees to step in and drag the man away.

The man's cries were drowned out by the deafening roar of the Coliseum's crowd as they cheered on the arena's current fighters. The mob boss holstered her gun as she half jogged to get to the viewing balcony's stone railing. "Shit" was all Varya could mutter out as she could see how the fighters had already started approaching one another. On one end of the arena was the woman's large "guard dog", Czar, and on the other end was the same rook Czar had faced last year. This time it wasn't about a simple brawl though. Troodon was sick. Contaminated. Varya knew there was no chance Czar was going to back down, even if his opponent looked and acted weird. The thick headed kukuri would fight a mountain if he felt like it was a threat or if Varya had said to do so. 
"Czar, стоп! Back down!" Varya tried to call out to her companion, but her voice was also drowned out by the audience's cheering. Czar couldn't hear her. "Блядь!" Varya hissed as she turned to head towards the stairway leading to the arena floor.

This was not going to end well.
