Siren SingalongYuaei x Roran

It was a tolerably warm day, and having gotten lucky enough to dig up an old fox cache the night before, Roran was in remarkably good spirits. He hadn't seen sight nor scent of another wolf... or any other living creature really... for the better part of a week. This most certainly was not a result of his poor tracking skills. And so, to fill up the emptiness of the bitter winter young Rory picked up a tune. It started as just a hum, but soon the lonely juvenile couldn't help himself and he took up the howl in earnest.

"A gypsy ro-ver came o-ver the hill,

Down through the vall-ey so shadyyy!
He whistled and he sang 'til the green woods rang ,
And he won the heart of a la-adyyy..."

His lanky paws bounced across the snow in time with the ballad, which had always been one of Roran's favourites. It was a little piece of home, and it helped keep his mind off the fact that ||

Desperation (Roran x Yuaei)

Bloody feet slipped on the uneven ground. Roran yelped weakly as the rocks beneath him scattered and his face careened towards the cold earth. For a moment, all he could do was lay crumpled as his breath misted in the taiga air. Not so very long ago, he’d walked this path with a spring in his step and a song in his heart. Now, he felt as grey and indistinct inside as the foggy woodland around him.
He could understand only vaguely what had happened. Even the fight, if such a word could be used to describe the routing of Tsuii’s band, was a blur of confusion and fear in his mind. Ajax and Garrow had found them and Roran had thought it meant, finally, that he would go home to Vrael and Adurna where he belonged. But then - then -...
Tollek is waiting, I can’t stay here.
Licking his scraped nose, Rory drug himself to his feet and sniffled. I won’t cry. Even if he didn’t know where to go from here. Even if he didn’t know what to b NEXT >>

Yuaei and Rory reunite, both a little older, and both with lots of news to share! Yuaei has settled in Highvalley, and Roran has fallen in with Tsuii’s nomadic band. They spend the day enjoying one another’s company and when it’s time to go - make plans to meet again soon! Yuaei’s bright presence is a welcome relief for Roran. He leaves with warm, tingly sensation in his chest... and she’s on his mind for a long time after they part!
