Throughout the world of Wyvera, as the harvest has drawn to a close and the air grows cold, snow drifting from the sky, a special tradition called the Festival of Frost spreads far and wide.
But only a select few have been sent invitations from the city of Sol, a rich and prosperous Daiuses territory, to partake in their celebrations.
As the recipient of one of these invitations, you and your Stryx must take the long journey from home to the city of Sol.
But this road is not easy, and is full of peril.

Pack your saddlebags and mount up for...

The Festival of Frost: THE ROAD TO SOL!

  • This event is set up to so that you get to choose which path you take on the Road to Sol, much like our Quests!
  • The Stryx you begin a Chapter with must be the Stryx you complete all parts of the Chapter with. However, you do not have to use the same Stryx for all Chapters.
  • For every Chapter of this story you complete, you will receive Festival Points, which can be spent in the Festival Store!
  • However, you may only earn Festival Points ONCE per Chapter. This means that if you've already completed the Chapter with one Stryx, and want to complete it with another Stryx, you'll only receive FP for the first completion. This is to prevent "mining"/"spamming" and to ensure this event is focused on quality over quantity.
  • FP are not saved and will not roll over for next year's event! You may not trade or gift FP to other players. FP is bound to you.
  • You will also receive an Achievement Badge when you complete each Chapter, but only if you complete all the prompts with the same Stryx! You can earn these badges with as many Stryx as you like, but quality requirements will still be enforced.
  • This event is not about mining AP, and your entries must show a focused effort. For this reason, we will not be allowing additional Stryx to be featured in your entries (unless required by a prompt). ONLY the Stryx who is participating in the prompt.
  • Blind Stryx must have received Blindness Training in order to participate, but otherwise there are no other rank or training requirements to enter!
  • Every Chapter will last roughly 2 weeks, with a clear entry deadline, and a one week break in-between. The goal is for the event to last no longer than our Winter season, to avoid burn-out for our players and admins alike.
  • If you began a Chapter before the deadline, but didn't manage to finish all your prompts, you can still finish at any time before the overall event has ended. Once the Festival has ended, however, no further entries will be accepted, regardless of whether you started your prompts or not. If you did not begin a prompt for a Chapter before the deadline, you may not enter that Chapter at all.

Artwork Requirements:

  • Full Body (at least 75% of the Stryx showing)
  • Colored and Shaded
  • Winter/prompt-appropriate backgrounds (Other requirements may be listed in the prompts themselves, so be sure to read them carefully)
  • Any entry that is overly sketchy or rushed, and does not match up to the artist's usual capabilities will not be counted, and you will be asked to fix the issue before you can move on to the next prompt.
  • Any prompt that requires an Event Stryx to be drawn must show at least 50% of the Event Stryx.
  • Riders Optional unless otherwise stated in a prompt.
  • Artwork and Stryx must be your own! No collaborations, trades, or commissions.
  • If you do not own a Stryx, you may use a Group Starter. However, if you use a Starter, you won't be able to earn the Achievement Badges.

Literature Requirements:

  • At least 1500 words per prompt.
  • Story must be written in English, and should show a good understanding of basic grammar. (We will not be super strict on this, as we know not all of our players speak/write English as a first language, but we are looking for effort from everyone.)
  • Stryx must be central to the story.
  • Any prompt that requires an Event Stryx must feature this Stryx in equal measure with the player's Stryx.
  • Riders Optional unless otherwise stated in a prompt.
  • Literature and Stryx must be your own! No collaborations, trades, or commissions.
  • If you do not own a Stryx, you may use a Group Starter but will not be able to earn the Achievement Badges.

Rewards:

These rewards can only be claimed ONCE per player, except the Achievement Badges.
For all rewards besides normal Chapter Completion Rewards, you can only choose ONE.
For example, if you complete all 4 Chapters, you can only claim the 4 Chapter Completion Prize, and not the lesser prizes of completing 2 or 3 chapters.
Rewards are account-bound and can NOT be sold/traded to other players.

  • Complete Chapter 1 to receive... x1 Achievement Badge + x1 Breeding slot to Lurk & 500 Baubles + 400 Festival Points
  • Complete Chapter 2 to receive... x1 Achievement Badge + x1 Breeding slot to Blizzard & 750 Baubles + 800 Festival Points
  • Complete Chapter 3 to receive... x1 Achievement Badge + x1 Breeding slot to Borealis & 1000 Baubles + 1500 Festival Points
  • Complete Chapter 4 to receive... x1 Achievement Badge + x1 Breeding Slot to Sol & 1500 Baubles + 2500 Festival Points

CHAPTER THREE: Aurora in the Aftermath

Road to Sol: Borealis' Badge by AlphaStryx
Borealis 467

The blizzard that ravaged the territory you were passing through did far more than coat the earth in another thick layer of snow, and the further you travel, the more you come to realize that you didn't experience the worst of it. After another day's travel, you come to find a whole section of forest was flattened, trees snapped, and a small village half-buried in snow. But worse than that, you can see signs of bodies peeking through the snow, and you realize just how lucky you were to have survived the storm.

DEADLINE TO BEGIN CHAPTER: February 23rd @ Noon PST
(Click for Countdown)

DEADLINE TO TURN IN ALL PROMPTS
April 30th
2019 @ noon PST

Option One:

You can't bring yourself to press on unless you check to see if any of the villagers survived. Your Stryx sniffs and nudges at hands, arms, and legs that peek just past the blanket of snow, until finally you both find signs of life!

Requirements:
(Depict your Stryx helping a survivor up and out of the snow they were buried in - Riders Optional)

Option Two:

You're fairly certain none of the villagers could have survived the storm, and though it twists your gut to do it, you move on. But it's not long before you hear a faint cry of help behind you. A small child runs up to you, cheeks red from the cold and streaked with tears.

"Please! Please help! You have to find Borealis! We...we took her eggs. We needed them! But then the storm came...The gods were angry with us, I know it! Please...please take the eggs back to her!"

Requirements:
(Depict your Stryx accepting two large Harpia eggs from the child - Riders Optional)
