[KH SoD] Midnight Comes Before the Dawn

  

So, this image. THIS IMAGE.

Caused SAI to crash 3 times. Caused Photoshop to crash once. DURING THE PHOTOSHOP CRASH IT DRAGGED MY WHOLE GODDAMN COMPUTER DOWN WITH IT, SO BAD I HAD TO FORCE A RESTART.

ANYWAY.

So I really wanted to draw Erebus (left) and Eos (right) from my fanfiction, Kingdom Hearts: Shards of Darkness. They're the literal embodiment/goddesses of Darkness and Light, respectively. Yes, Erebus is meant to look like a Heartless. Eos is meant to look like...an alien angel? I guess? But don't let her sweet looks fool you, she can be just as tough as Erebus. 

Erebus, being the embodiment of darkness and the creator of it, also created the Realm of Darkness (her home). The Heartless are her children and she is her mother. She is was a Heartless herself, but she has a heart now (it's a bit complicated and involves too much mind and logic getting in the way of things and Eos, fed up with her BS, giving her one and it Fucking Erebus Up (tm)). Likewise, Eos is the creator of the Realm of Light, it is her home and the creatures within are her children. While Erebus can control the Heartless, technically Eos CAN control those in the RoL, but only with abundant light in their hearts; as most creations within can go either way. She can control those with pure light (IE: Princesses of Heart) or summon them to her. 

Their main purpose for existing is not to war or fight with each other, but to create BALANCE. Darkness and Light exist as part of a delicate balance, so when one outweighs each other, they enter one or the other's realm to help balance things out. Darkness isn't inherently evil, it's just very powerful and it's emotions and power easily corrupt. Light also isn't inherently good either; but the emotions generally keep those on the straight and narrow, but it can corrupt as well. The sisters cannot directly interfere with the balance (it severely weakens them if they do), but they can influence those involved with suggestion or by aiding them. If one consumes the other, then the universe falls out of balance and Bad Things Happen (see: end of the Keyblade War and what could've happened if it weren't for the Dandelions, MoM and his book/eyes, ect.). 

But they usually do this in their "mortal" forms. Cause their true forms are...this. Which are big and scary. Hmm, I wonder who they are...

Not much to say about the art since I'm dog tired of it; I have aquired Clip Studio Paint so I used this as an experiment! I shaded everything in it EXCEPT Hair and Erebus' wings; hair still looks way better in SAI. I think it turned out OK? Still me but not smooth like I normally do. Not sure how I feel about it. BG is meant to look like "The Final World" in KH3, but with a dark reflection. Blended them together to represent how the lines between dark and light are often blurred, at least in my fanfic. Very happy with it. Got some niggles but eh. I worked too hard on this to care anymore.
