Origin
(---"
A super weapon of WWII-era Japan that the americans at the time dubbed "The Thing" was smashed to pieces by the WW2 hero, Blue Tracer. After the failure of the mech during it's first run in America, the schematics for the mech were locked away and never saw the light of day for many years, especially after Japan's surrenders that ended the war. While many of the plans for other war machines were destroyed as terms of the Japanese' surrender, the original blueprints for The Thing survived and are kept in a crate and stored in a warehouse that was suppose to be sealed up tight, keeping would-be supervillains from taking them for their own schemes.

Several decades later in the 1990s, a rather popular Japanese doomsday cult discovered through hidden agents in the japanese government about the blueprints for the war machine, so the cult leader's agents broke into the warehouse and appropriated the blueprints from their confines.

Thanks to the scientists and engineers that work for the cult, The Thing had been reborn, with all the latest technology of that time using much of the money that was at the cult leader's disposal to pay for it's construction. The new version of The Thing was to be part of the cult leader's plan to unleash it upon the city of Tokyo and the Imperial Palace, painted in American iconography to make the nation think that America was the one who unleashed it, and kickstart World War Three.

However, before they could paint the decals to complete the image, a portal opened up underneath the newly finished machine and it disappeared from that dimension, and into The Super Sargasso Sea.

The machine was changed due to exposure to The Sea's energies, giving it a orange and green color scheme and it became both sentient and sapient. However, it also gained a voice and personality unlike what you would expect from it's place of origin. A black female voice with a thick Gaelic accent and the personality of a stereotypical irishman.

While she, who claimed that her name was Koto Siobhan, wasn't interested in doing anything superhero related like fighting crime, she did get the job of being part of a team of repairmen that clean up the damages that were inflicted on the city by super-powered punch-ups.

The team was known as The Constructors."---)

This character, like Omphalos previously, is a re-imagining of Charlton Comic's The Thang, the green-colored spoof version of Marvel's The Thing that appeared in Go-Go Comics #6 along with other spoofs of both The Avengers and The Fantastic Four. So they would fit in perfectly with characters like Green Trashcan and The Cash in the same universe. I'm thinking of doing another one of the superhero spoofs seen in Roy Thomas' Alter-Ego fanzine and Go-Go Comics, but at this point I have no idea which ones.

Anyway, This version of The Thang is a mix of two characters, Charlton's The Thang and a character from Quality's Military Comics who was a WWII japanese giant mech that was called The Thing. A giant mech that can create a magnetic field that protects it from most attacks, except wood since a wooden boomerang was able to knock out the exposed human pilot. The mech's story can be found HERE on page 52.

This character was made using Hero Machine 3.

Just like I'm doing with my own version of Streetwise,I'm going to have my version of Da Thang,be a member of the MUCC organization in the Triumphant Universe and he'll be a retooled,super-advanced and reprogrammed Mecha from the WW II-era who is a valued and important member of the organization.
