Panama

Panama City seems to be devided into several distinct districts, each different from the others. There is the business district with its glass and steel skyscraper architecture, the neatly renovated Old Town with its colonial buildings, the yacht and hotel district on the opposite side of the bay and - of course - the living district, similar to any Central American town. Still, according to my taste, the old colonial part us the most picturesque, so here's a sketch I did an its Plaza de Francia.

Panama City scheint aus mehreren klar voneinander getrennten Stadtteilen zu bestehen, von denen keiner etwas mit den anderen zu tun hat. Da gibt es den Business-Bezirk mit seinen Wolkenkratzern aus Glas und Stahl, die sorgfältig renovierte Altstadt mit ihrer kolonialen Architektur, den Yacht- und Hotelbezirk auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite der Bucht und natürlich den Wohnbezirk, der wirkt wie in jeder anderen zentralamerikanischen Stadt auch. Für meinen Geschmack ist die Altstadt immer noch am malerischsten. Hier also eine Aquarellskitze, die ich auf der Plaza de Francia gemacht habe.
