A Father's Advice

"Maybe... I should just be a little more grateful. Yeah! If Dad were here, he'd definitely tell me something like that. I mean, that darkness didn't catch me! And... I met you, Leo! I dunno if would've survived very long if I didn't... So... thank you!"

"Such a pretty place, huh Hunter?"

"It's just so lonely here... I just wish everyone I knew were here with me. I know they'd all enjoy it..."

"haha... Sorry. I've been thinkin 'bout your situation and y'know? It's funny. You've been doin nothin but thinkin and talkin 'bout how bad everythin is. Yet dat ain't what I see at all."

"Look at dis tree here. It's givin ya lots of fruit to eat. How they taste?"

"And that's not even all the food ya got access to, right?"

"Ya got a bunch of safe space to run around too, right?"

"Ya even managed to get a bunch of Baki on your side. Heh. Never thought that woulda happen to ya, huh?"

"No, I guess I didn't."

"You're really lucky, son. Things could've been a lot worse for ya. But that didn't happen, did it?"

"...Maybe you have a point, Dad. Maybe I'm just complaining for no real reason at all..."

"No! No! I ain't sayin dat! What I'm tryin to say is... well... look around, Hunter! There's so many good things around ya that you're missing out on. You really gotta take a good look at what ya got right now 'cause it's real amazing."

"I... think I get it now. Y'know, when I first got trapped here, I was chased by this giant cloud of darkness! I thought I wasn't going to make it out alive, but... I DID! I really did! And Leo has stuck right by me since the very begining..."
