My offer for for foal 1A from ART AUCTION - Foals - Ends mar 17 2019 :D

Story
A gentle, warm breeze tugged at Cam’s hair softly as he stood and watched Rush walk the large seal bay mare across the grass to double-check she was still in good shape to travel. Darren was standing right next to the young man, also watching the whole progression in front of them with his arms crossed and a characteristic half smile on his face.
“I still want to look at the foals,” Cam pouted, looking up at the tall man with a childishly dissatisfied face. Darren chuckled, not meeting his gaze.
“I know,” he responded simply.
Cam was quiet again for a few moments, then turned around and started walking away stubbornly. He wanted to go see the foals, so that’s exactly what he’d go do. Who would stop him, anyways? Darren glanced at him over his shoulder, but didn’t try to bring him back, instead letting out a soft chuckle as he let the kid have his way. It hadn’t taken long for everyone to realize it was pointless to tell Cam what to do. Well… almost everyone.
“Where’d he go?” Rush asked a little while later after he’d loaded Super into the trailer and gotten her all settled in for the trip, “We’re ready to go.”
“He’s saying hi to the foals,” Darren said in light amusement, curious to see how Rush would respond. He got a delightful series of expressions ranging from disbelief to frustration to amazement at the kid’s boldness, and grinned. Cam, who was as open as a book could get and so easy to figure out, was like an impossible puzzle to Rush.
“Let’s go get him then,” he suggested, patting Rush’s shoulder before walking off in the direction Cam went in. They walked together quietly.
“Cameron, come on,” Rush called when he spotted the kid leaning against a fence, but it seemed like his order fell on deaf ears. His mouth pulled into a thin, frustrated line.
“Why won’t he listen to me?” He hissed to Darren. The man looked down at him.
“Because he’s not a dog,” he chuckled, “He doesn’t listen to anyone.”
Rush let out a sharp, irritated exhale through his nose, but said nothing more as they walked closer.
“Darren, look at that little black foal there, with the cool marking on her face,” Cam grinned, pointing at a little black sabino filly who was zooming back and forth through the tall, flower-filled grass.
“We have to go, Cameron, Super is all loaded up,” Rush tried to interrupt, but he was once again completely ignored.
“She’d be perfect for cross-country, I can already see it,” Cam beamed toothily, looking at the filly again with loving eyes, “Racing through the fields and the forests and flying over the obstacles like they’re nothing. Don’t you think?”
“Hmmmmm,” Darren merely responded, glancing at Rush from the corner of his eyes to get a visual idea of where the irritation meter was located. It seemed to be pretty close to red.
“We don’t specialize in cross country though, Cameron,” Rush snapped, “And we don’t need another foal, we have plenty as is. Come on.”
He waited a few moments to see if he’d get a reaction, looking a the filly as well with a scowl. Darren sighed.
“Can we talk a second?” He asked Rush, not waiting for a response as he pulled the man out of Cam’s earshot.
“What do you want,” Rush snarled, glaring up at him.
“I think you’re being too hard on him,” Darren said honestly, “And he’s right, you can see the potential in that filly as well and if you can’t you should probably get an appointment at the ophthalmologist.”
“Oh very funny,” Rush responded dryly, gnashing his teeth together in frustration, “I just want to leave. Without a foal.”
“We have her dam, what harm could it do? Cam will train the little spud, right? It’ll give him experience, too, and maybe he can help Mason out with training the greener horses once he’s got the hang of it.”
“Mason doesn’t need help.”
“Everyone at Sterlingwood needs a little help with their workload.”
Rush crossed his arms, looking back at the filly - who was still busy bounding around her field - and from his expression Darren could tell he was starting to consider.
“Come on, think about it,” he coaxed in a soothing voice, smiling softly.
“She’s probably not even available anymore, foals like that don’t just lie around,” Rush grumbled.
“But we could go ask, right?”
There was a long silence, then Rush sighed.
“Fine. Fine, we can go ask,” he groaned, throwing his hands up in defeat, “Whatever. She won’t be my responsibility.”
“Exactly,” Darren grinned.
“And if Cameron doesn’t take proper care of her we’re selling her, yeah?”
“Hmmm, we’ll see about that,” Darren murmured softly, resting one hand on Rush’s waist and running the other through the man’s hair. Rush huffed, jerking his head away.
“No, those are my conditions,” he said firmly, “Otherwise we’re leaving and Cameron can decide if he wants to come along with us or pay for his own trip back.”
“Alright, alright, point made,” Darren chuckled, “You can go tell him that.”
Rush nodded and turned around to go and do just that, but Darren caught his arm before he could walk away. He leaned down and wrapped him into a quick kiss, so fleeting that it was over before it even started.
“Thanks,” he grinned, but Rush just rolled his eyes in response.
“Whatever,” he grumbled, walking away while mumbling, “I didn’t do it for you.”
Darren smiled softly, then looked back over at the filly and watched her for a few moments as she chased a butterfly excitedly. What would the future hold for her?

Word count: 962

Registered Name: Born To Run
Stable Name: Bruce, Brucey

Age: Foal (<8 months)
Gender: Filly
Height: Projected at 1.63 m

Breed: Hanoverian x Holsteiner
Colour: Black Sabino
Genotype: Ee/aa/nSb
Markings: Irregular blaze, 4 socks, sabino markings
Eyes: Brown

Personality: A filly with endless amount of energy and curiosity who doesn't know the definition of walking calmly. She can be overwhelming for some people because of this. She has just as much love as she does energy, and likes to give people kisses and hugs, and although she's a bit of a handful she makes up for it with her cuddles. She's super smart and will always try to find a way to escape her stall or field to go on a fun adventure.
Stable Behaviour: A true escape artist (Houdini would have been a more fitting name, probably), though she never gets into trouble when she gets out of her stall. She just likes exploring.
People Behaviour: She doesn't quite understand that some people have boundaries and that they don't always want to play, but she is always sweet and affectionate towards everyone.
Riding Behaviour: Too young to be ridden
Herd Behaviour: For now of the older horses are mostly putting up with her shenanigans because she's still a foal, but she'll definitely need some disciplining on how to behave in a herd at some point.

Rider: Cameron Kashevsky
Discipline: Eventing
Previous owners: --

Bloodline: Besserwisser x C Supergeil

Artist's note: I wasn't expecting to colour a traditional drawing for this, but I didn't have enough time to make the lineart between my homework and other things in life, but I'm not mad about how it looks. It could be cleaner, but this will do :giggle:
