Out of all the people captured and transformed into something they aren’t by Project: G.E.M, only a handful of them were truly evil long before receiving their injections; career criminal Norris Allmond is one of them. Soft-spoken and charming on his good days, malicious and icily bloodthirsty on his bad, he doesn’t even TRY making an attempt to hide how horrid he is; a sociopath to the core, robbery, assault, and murder are his go-to ways to feed his insatiable need for stimulation, and now that G.E.M’s experiments have turned him into a Paradigm, he finds himself giddy at the new ways he can cause as much collateral damage as possible. He’s been getting to work almost immediately after slithering out of the lab; reports keep coming in regarding hundreds of crumbling stone statues – some men, others women and children, and all of them in groups – frozen in mid-scream with expressions of absolute horror on their faces. Some who find the statues say they can hear the echoes of Allmond’s rasping laughter somewhere in the distance; others are even less fortunate, because the monstrous snake has a habit of hanging around the grisly aftermaths of his attacks. Investigating the scene of a crime perpetrated by him always has the chance you’ll turn around and suddenly find yourself staring at a mouth too big for the face it’s on and a pair of glowing, green eyes; then there will be the feeling of something cold and crackly covering you, and then nothing at all…

Norris Allmond/The Basilisk is a 7-meter long snake-man who shares the attributes of the animal he’s based on, and can shift between human and snake form at will; in snake form, he can sense vibrations within the ground, has an incredibly high healing factor, is fantastically agile despite his size and weight, and his flexibility, strength, sense of smell, and lung capacity have been enhanced past the peak of human perfection; he can track victims from miles away with smell alone, can crush a military vehicle to half its original size by contracting his body around it, and has a bite force that matches, if not exceeds, that of a hippopotamus. He is capable of moving with incredibly silent bursts of speed despite his size, and is a master of stealth; the one and only sign he could be nearby is his eyes, and looking at them ensures you will not survive your encounter with him. The Basilisk’s most dangerous weapon, however, is not his speed or strength; it’s his gaze. Making eye contact with him will turn your body to stone, killing you almost immediately; sometimes he will use his one remaining arm to FORCE you to make eye contact, explaining why many of his victims’ statues have their heads tilted back. It even seems that his petrifying stare works though reflection as well.

The Basilisk’s price for becoming a Paradigm is unknown; it’s generally believed the injection destroyed whatever self-restraint he had and allowed his rampant sociopathy to grow even worse.
