Description

[Image: A page of studies, as if from a field sketchbook, depicting an entity dubbed “Subject #013.” They appear to be a marriage between the organic and the inorganic, a lithe humanoid construct that is serpentine from the waist down. Little notes are scattered all over the page;

“Subject found in hiding. Engaged willingly after brief observation period.”

“No recollection of injury,” indicating the entity's damaged right arm.

“Motile” indicating the entity's ambulatory chords of hair.

“Rudimentary emotive dictionary. Prone to mimicry.”

“Taught lewd gestures by Geo. Division.” “Oh no” ]

You recover the personal logs of a Phys. Div. field scientist, complete with a sketchbook detailing the entities encountered by the crew...
Could this creature hold the answers to their disappearance?

All proceeds benefit No More Deaths / No Más Muertes here in Arizona.
No More Deaths provides humanitarian aid to migrants making the perilous journey across the U.S.-Mexico border,
and advocates for an end to the draconian border practices that kill countless people each year.
ty everyone for making this a success!!

Etc, rambling:

which one of you taught my beautiful son to curse

This comes as something of a change of pace for me, because it's been a very long time since I did work-for-sale. I hope that this doesn't feel completely unexpected, though-- I have wanted to do charity sales for some time, being that I hate money and this is the only way I feel comfortable interacting with it.

This issue is near to my heart and weighs on me very heavily, as somebody who lives near the border. If you are interested in learning more, Caitlin Doughty has compiled a heartbreaking and sobering video about death at the border, and how we got here (strong content warning for images of both human and animal corpses; these are handled very respectfully, however.)

Also consider checking out Humane Borders, Border Angels, and the Colibri Center for Human Rights. Humane Borders maintains water stations from Tucson to Phoenix to provide life-giving water to migrants who are making the trek north; Border Angels likewise provides water, as well as legal help and advocacy. The Colibri Center searches for missing persons and does forensics work, identifying the remains of those who die in the desert so that they may connect them with their families.

Anyway. Thank you for making it to the end of this word salad, and again for considering my goofy little charity sale <3 Consider throwing a few bucks at one of these organizations, if you can, or taking a minute to spread awareness.
