Deviation Actions
Description
Bast stands as a quiet, but strong figure. He can appear distant in against more outgoing wolves, but he is willing to engage others. He may not voice it his dedication to his pack, but shows it by properly managing his time to assist hunts, pack scouting or offer a shoulder to those who need it. He is the last one who shows panic in situations of heavy stress. He strives to be someone who can be relied on.
One of his more noble traits is his innate sense to shelter the young ones. A fatherly individual to the core, he is mindful of his comments and actions around pups. Always aware of how they might idolize things they shouldn’t if he is too careless around them. He also has an eye for detail, among the unruly ones. Bast can look past their rudeness and temper, and see fairer traits that should be encouraged. This aspect from him comes from the gentle and stable presence of his grandmother during his youth, and Bast’s own determination and judge of character.
Bast tries to be aware of the hierarchy around him. He is distant but obedient to those of superior rank, this is not out of fear or low self stem. but it’s his way to show respect and keep the dynamic within the pack healthy. He is aware that family or an strained relationship can make daily life difficult, but he thinks discomfort it´s something one should get over with if they wish to live peacefully. Surprisingly, Bast doesn't judge badly on those who, for whatever reason, decide to leave the pack. Some things are better left unexplained.
His approach to those of superior rank are polite. He can feel uncomfortable if the approach isn't professional, there is an exception if Bast has a shared history with them, but without it Bast would prefer to keep things as he know. But he is truly casual with those whom he shares task, he is willing to loosen up around them and humor others or similar nature with his sarcastic comments.
He doesn’t hold many rules to follow, but he is truly dedicated to them. His curiosity one of the reasons he looked beyond Damasca’s reputation. Bast is willing to embrace the raiders’ strength and the reputation he may get. Even if negative, he chooses to ignores the critiques and lays on his confidence on himself. He is capable of being independent if things were to turn bad, but Bast is content as long as he is able to serve.
His ability to wait for the right moment to act is something he takes pride on, to rush something would only make things fail at some point. Yet he can lack the tact understand why others wouldn’t be as willing to wait as he is. Bast sees this on other wolves as a lack of discipline over their emotions.
Bast is aware of his emotions, but rarely shows them. There is little room for confusion regarding what he is feeling, but the “how” and “why” can can be misplaced. He can feel deeply but there is a unwillingness from him to be openly vulnerable, even around loved ones. It’s not that he wants to hurt them by not being able to trust them, but he feels he shouldn’t bother others with his conflicts.
Needless to say, he is able to be cold. This comes out of arrogance, he looks down on others who don’t give their everything, or lament their lack of success. To Bast this comes as self pity, not worth of his time.
