Description

Miss Superior
Real Name:
Julia Dale
Powers: Miss Superior's powers include the ability to control, create, and change matter. She usually used these abilities to instantly change her clothing or appearance, to turn enemies and their weapons into harmless objects, or to animate objects (such as chairs or statues) to help her with a task. She could even turn two dimensional art into something real. She could fly, shrink herself and others, and move objects telekinetically.
However, while in the Super-Sargasso Sea, she cannot manipulate anything that didn't come from her world as despite some of it looking familiar, all the objects within The Sea are too foreign for Superior's powers to even interact with.
Equipment: Whatever she wants since she can just create it out of thin air, though creating things like complex machinery and living organisms out of nothing takes so much effort and concentration for Superior to create effectively. In The Super-Sargasso Sea however, this process has been made even more difficult to the point that she becomes exhausted requires several months of rest to fully recover after every time she creates something complex.
First Appearance: Deviantart (12/31/2019)

Origin
(---"
Several decades before Superior City became what it is today, the city had one superheroine that watched over it. A heroine so powerful that she could be compared to a goddess with her power to reshape matter around her like it was clay.

That heroine being the mysterious, Miss Superior.

It was with her actions that help accelerate the development of the city's technology to what it is today, such as being able to produce their own food and water without the need to import them from states beyond California and a self-sustaining energy plant that gave the city it's power. This is what allows the city's inhabitants to survive while within The Super-Sargasso Sea when it didn't have any contact with other settlements and commence trade relations with them for food and and other life-sustaining supplies.

However, due to her status as the city's protector and one of the most powerful heroes in her world, she had much influence among the city's government with "suggesting" certain forms of legislation that evolved overtime into the authoritarian nightmare they are today. And since no politician wanted to say "No" to the most powerful female in the city, no one had the guts to challenge the new laws.

Though about a decade before Superior City was moved to The Sea, Miss Superior mysteriously disappeared and no one had any clue as to her whereabouts. This disappearance hasn't stopped corrupt officials that Miss Superior personally backed from continuing the policies that continued to run the city and the innocent civilians into the ground."---)

What might possibly be my last character I've submitted for this DECADE, since at the time of this submission and according to my clock I've got less then 6 hours before The New 20s comes around. Anyway about this character.

This character was inspired by and built off of Quality Comics' Miss America, whose powers rivals that of Fletcher Hanks' Stardust and Fantomah with her ability to control matter and manipulate it however she likes. Which always has the narrative problem of how the hell can their actually be any conflict or dramatic tension if she has the powers of Marvel's Molecule Man or DC's Doctor Manhattan and can just poof her opponents into doves or something equally harmless. So I figured that maybe I can tweak her concept a bit so that she could be considered The Big Bad of Superior City for those who need a kinda Final Boss of the setting. That and have her be one of the big reasons why Superior City is in the state that it's in currently

This character was made using Hero Machine 3.

Nice work!

I like the character and everything about her! I'll have my version of her be a Super Hero and one who dies in the graphic novel for Shark and my version will be a VERY significantly de-powered version of her and while she will still be powerful as a character in her own right, she also won't be as powerful as this original version and she'll have a lot of very hard limitations to her superpowers and abilities and to what she can and can't do and she won't be able to survive in vacuum environments and breathe underwater or in outer space( and she'll die as a result of drowning like many other Super Heroes in the comic book will).

Like you said, if a character has the superpowers of Marvel's Molecule Man or DC's Doctor Manhattan, it creates the narrative problem of how the hell there can actually be any real conflict or dramatic tension, so this version of her is an even MORE tweaked version of your tweaked take on Miss Superior as inspired by and built off of Quality Comics' Miss America( who like you said, has powers that rivals those of Fletcher Hanks' Stardust and Fantomah with her ability to control matter and manipulate it however she likes) .

I'm also doing a very similar thing with my versions of Captain Atom( who won't be called by that name), Stardust, Fantomah and The Magician From The Mars and a lot of C.A. Dimaapi's overpowered characters, too( in still keeping them very powerful but at the same time, significantly powering them down as characters as to have there be room for conflict, dramatic tension and a story, really). I'm looking forward very much to using Miss Superior!
