Breeding Etiquette

• DO NOT HAVE CONVERSATIONS OF ANY KIND ON THE BREEDING THREAD; decide litter distribution and contact breeding admin via notes. Do not create extra comments to tag owners, instead Note them a link to the breeding. Replies should be limited to litter rolls and the distribution of litter ownership. Click here to read the full list of exceptions. Members found breaking this rule will have their breedings declined.
• If you have an issue with how your breeding was handled or find an error, do not reply to the roller; instead note the Tokotas group with a link to your breeding.
• Make sure you comment on the correct thread.
• Only one breeding per comment.
• A new breeding request journal will be posted every month. It is your responsibility to keep track of your own breedings/litters!

Breeding Rules

• Breeding requests are limited per user, per month. Consult the User Breeding Request Limits guide for a breakdown of how many breedings you may post or be involved in.
• If you do not own one or both of the tokotas in your breeding request, you must link to the tokota's owner's permission written on the Sire/Dam Owner Approval thread.
• List only physical Traits, Hereditary mutations,  Hereditary non-physical Traits, and breeding-related Companions in your breeding request. Do not copy their descriptions into the form.
  • Earned Traits (RoM, Alpha, Elemental Traits) are non-hereditary and should not be listed. Breedings containing these will be sent to corrections. Likewise, companions irrelevant to breedings should not be included, and will be sent to corrections if listed.

• You may purchase breeding supplements to increase your odds at more pups in your litter. Close Care can be used only for Dire x Dire breedings; Fertility Supplements can be used for everything else. No supplements can be used in Akota breedings. If you are not familiar with applying breeding supplements, check the list of possible options here.
• If your Tokota is Alpha but uses a Dominant background, please list 'Alpha' next to the tokota's name or import in your form, otherwise it may be rolled as Dominant. We will not re-roll for members who do not specify. Do not post any other hierarchies.
• Submissive tokotas may not breed. Only submissive tokotas whose breeding permissions were written prior to Jan 1, 2017 may breed, and only once a month. Be aware there is a chance for an empty litter when breeding a submissive tokota.
• Be aware of consequences of attempted overbreeding as well as penalties and health risks which may result from inbreeding and double-merle breeding. These include:
  - Spinal Deformities: Tokotas with spinal deformities cannot be ridden. These tokotas will also receive -5% to success in any exploration, caving or diving activity. These tokotas may still be used as light pack animals, pull light sleds and pull a skier!
  - Blindness: Tokotas with blindness will receive a -5% to success in hunting and fishing activities
  - Deafness: Tokotas with deafness will receive a -5% score to herding related activities.
  - Deceased Pups

• Deceased genos cannot be transferred to other users. Comments dividing split litters with one or more deceased genos must indicate which split partner owns the deceased geno(s). A deceased geno (born after 5th Nov, 2019) can be resurrected with the use of a PotA Token earned by completing the Passage of the Alpha.

• Are you sure you are registered to a Faction on your Tokotna.com account?
• Is your username up to date on your bank/tribe/tokotas ownership if you have changed it or switched accounts?
• Is everything that you want to apply to your breeding in your current possession (no pending transactions, including for Tokotas being transferred to you)?

Sire/Dam Owner Approval (Reply Here)

• Posted by owner of either sire or dam. You must have this approval before posting your breeding request.
• You do not need to use this if both parents are owned by you!
• It is required that you link the tokota's import sheet; it is advised that you provide both the Name and ID of the tokota to avoid confusion.
• Only post approval if the breeding can be used immediately.
• Submissive tokotas may not breed unless the permission was written prior to Jan 1, 2017. Anyone writing permission to breed a Submissive tokota will receive a warning.
• Even if the Breeding Requests Page is closed, you may still post permissions for the month.

Breeding Corrections (Reply Here)

• Reply here if your breeding was declined and you have been asked to repost.
• Link back to your previous breeding attempt when reposting!
• You have three days after breedings reopen to post your corrections from the previous month for it to count for the previous months' breedings. After that time window, you will need to re-post to the main thread, at which point it will count for the current month.
