If Life Was A Rough Draft..

ABOUT THE PICS DESIGN:
This was done in Corel PP12, all drawings and writing were done digitally by myself, trying to create as close to pencil drawing as possible, i think i did well.. the photo took quite some time to turn into a drawing.. the book and pen are real however the pen writing is also done digitally. Feel free to leave thoughts and critique and i strongly reccomend reading the image's purpose below to truly appreciate this piece. Cheers

ABOUT THE PICS PURPOSE:
This picture is simply a reminiscent piece with quote from my own personal thoughts i came up with a few months ago.. 'If life was a rough draft, would you re-write anything?' Would you change what has made you to the person you are today. The drawing is of myself as I am now, in pencil, with the quote beside it. It is meant to show that as a rough draft, i could erase some parts, and change them.. but if you could change these parts, would you still be the same person you are today? Would you re-write the moment you met your first love? Would you change your first heartbreak? Would you change your friends? Would you change your family?

At first thought, I myself, and i'm sure almost every other person who reads this would think, i would DEFINATELY change some of the things in my life, but once you think about that, you have to think, what would have happened if you did? Because each thing you change, is actually answering another question which you don't even think about or realise until you face it head on.. Would you change who you are today? Any moment and every day in life, you are faced with choices, and throughout the days you will also face feelings. You will feel hurt, feel happiness, you feel struggle, feel freedom, you feel the world on your shoulders and you feel your world turned upside down.. and every one of these is caused by the choices we make every day.

In pencil, you could heal your first heartbreak, but would that mean the friends you hold dear now, never enter your life in the same way they are today? Without these friends, would the bonds you hold, and people you rely on now have the same meaning? Without those bonds, would you have made it through the tough times you've gone through? Without this companionship and help to fight through these struggles would you be as emotionally strong as you are? Without the strength you have inside of you, would you have become the person you are this very day?

There is no right or wrong answer to the question, it is meant to flow through your mind, make you wonder.. what if? Make you think about the decisions that have gotten you to where you are now. Make you appreciate the people who have helped you become the person you are. Make you even appreciate yourself as who you are. A person will never be truly happy until they are truly happy with themselves.

In the end, all that lays in pencil is reminiscence, but reality is in pen. Life is the hard copy. You can't change the past, the things that have made you what you are today, but you can think about it, focus on the hurt, the tears, the pain, the heartbreak, the bad things that life deals everyone everyday, and let them be written down as the rough draft of your reminiscence of life, or you could realise that every hit you take, only makes strength in yourself if you let it. The happiness, the laughter, the smiles and the love are all things that i'm sure no-one would change, but these good moments would not have become without the bad moments that have brought you to them... for no happy ending, was ever found at the end of a completely happy tale.

The life you live, the person you are, wouldn't be the same without every moment, good and the bad, that has brought you to where you are now. Now think about that, and think.. If life was a rough draft, would you re-write anything?
