PHOTOGRAPH-EARTH ARTIST OF THE MONTH




Photograph-Earth is a group dedicated to showcasing photography of all the regions, landscapes, cultures, religions, and peoples of the world. Our mission is to prove, once and for all, that there is beauty in all things, and that we all share more similarities than we have differences. Taking a stand here and now against ignorance, persecution, and misunderstanding.

Each month we feature one of our members, in the hope that this will promote their artwork further in the community and give them more exposure.  This member is chosen not simply based on the quality of his or her work, but also based on his or her participation, attitude, and overall presence within the Photograph-Earth community.

He was one of our first members, and one of the first to submit his artwork.  Each week he contributes stunning photography, and we cannot thank him enough for his support.  He was also kind enough to answer a few brief interview questions.

The interview went as follows...


Question: Where are you from?

Answer: Graz, Austria.  (Europe, not Australia.)


Question: If there's one thing you could tell people about your home, what would it be?

Answer: We love to be grumpy and we complain a lot. but we make good sweets.


Question: What's your favorite tradition or custom about your culture? (This could be anything; a favorite holiday, a favorite celebration, a favorite festival, a religious tradition, etc.)

Answer: Austrians love the mountains, so we tend to climb, ski or hike up there any chance we get. one of the few Austrian traditions, i can identify myself with.


Question: Besides photography, what are some of your other hobbies?

Answer: economics, politics, bars, music, film an poetry.


Question: How long have you been a photographer?

Answer: i wouldn't consider myself as a photographer, since i study business. but i am interested in photography since i figured out that i am not as a good painter as the rest of my family. you gotta have some way to express yourself, dont you?


Question: What do you love most about photography?

Answer: its the art to make the beauty of the world clearer and more focused, so all people can see it.


Question: What is your most popular photograph here on DeviantArt? (Based on number of comments and/or favorites only.)

Answer:


Most faves has The Lost world, although personally its not one of my favourites. its just a great landscape and all i had to do is pull the trigger.


Question: What is your personal favorite photograph here on DeviantArt (doesn't matter how popular it is), and why?

Answer:


'Every dream comes to an end' has the most comments and is a very personal picture for me. it will always stir up memories of that particular moment and of that special girl.


Question: What advice would you give to aspiring photographers?

Answer: open your eyes, and try to 'see'... like really see the special, unique and lovably things in the world, it doesnt always have to be the bombastic landscape. sounds stupid, and maybe it is. anyway thats what i try to do.


Question: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Answer: Bhurma. Afghanistan. To the bottom of the ocean.
